# Why export works but import doesn’t in Pipeline

Pipeline shows leads grouped by stages in a Kanban view, not in a table or tabular format. Import requires data in a table format to map fields correctly, so it can’t work with Pipeline. Export is easier because the system can convert Pipeline data into a table format when exporting.
